Bulgaria offers a unique variety of sea and fresh-water fishing to thrill and excite you,with beautiful countryside, winding rivers, natural and man-made lakes as well as the Black Sea. LifeStyle Tours brings you the best fishing Bulgaria has to offer, with optional extras to suit your requirements.

All our tours offer excellent fishing for angling clubs, experts and enthusiastic

beginners to enjoy. We’ve provided just a few ideas in this brochure – please ask us about the many other options available.
 

Year-round fishing

Spring: Active fish in shallow water with predatory fish close in-shore. (May is the closed season for freshwater fishing.)

Summer: Fish most active in the mornings, evenings and night, with slow

fishing during the heat of the day.

Autumn: Fish taking the bait actively before going to deeper water for winter

(the best season for sea fishing).

Winter: Dace, rudd and predatory fish active all season. Some fishing on ice. Hard to tempt carp, lethargic in the colder months.

 

Day 1

Short-haul flight from Gatwick to Varna Airport. Two-hour transfers to Marinka Lodge, Bourgas, recently refurbished in traditional style.

Deep Sea Fishing

Captain Christoe, our seasoned skipper, can take up to six anglers in his beautifully restored traditional

fishing boat, for a thrilling deep sea fishing experience out on the Black Sea. You could be catching bonito, tuna, haddock, flounder, turbot, mullet, sole, flounder, common stingray and sea bass (especially active between September and November). Rods, bait, tackle, transfers, translator/guide and a tasty packed lunch are all included.

Try your hand at shooting clay pigeons –conveniently located between Bourgas Lake and the Marinka Lodge. As with fishing, discipline, timing and concentration are key to success at this fun sport!

* Prices are based on 4 anglers, with 2 sharing a twin room including breakfast (single rooms are available on payment of the appropriate supplement). The itinerary is totally flexible depending on your wishes, weather conditions and where the fish are biting. Our guides and translators will always escort you to the best swims. Bait and packed lunches are supplied, and tackle is available on request. Bicycles, overnight tent(s) and barbecues can be provided if required.

Day 2

Fishing at the massive (7.5 x 3 miles) freshwater Bourgas Lake just two miles away and stocked with bass, grey mullet, pike, carp, trout and more, most over 2kg to eat or return.

Day 4

Fishing at Poyroy Lake, rich in catfish, carp, zander, perch and chubb and easily accessible year round.

With a dam at its easterly end, it’s home to fish weighing 15kg and over.

 

Day 7

Fishing at Bourgas Lake. Evening visit to Bourgas city with celebratory dinner in the Boulevard Bar.

 

Day 8

Day 3

Fishing at the remote and unspoilt Aheloy Lake, rich in many fish including carp, trout, pike and the local ‘Tom’ fish (up to 14kg). This lake was only fished by locals until recently, and is not always accessible in bad weather.

Day 5

Fishing off the lush banks of the Fakiyska/Rapotamo Rivers, for specimen trout, carp and many smaller varieties.

Day 6

Fishing at the Veleka River close to the border with Turkey.

Transfers to Varna, with free time for shopping and lunch before return flights to Gatwick.
